Setting up email on my Kindle Fire

Important notice

Issues accessing your @talktalk.net email
Our engineers have identified that some customers are having issues accessing their @talktalk.net email account. This isn't affecting the actual emails, which are still being delivered correctly, more information here

The following steps will help you setup your talktalk.net or tiscali.co.uk email address on your Kindle Fire. If you’re not sure what your email or password is you can find them in My Account.

Simply tap the menu icon, then tap Accounts and tap and hold the account you want to remove. Select Remove Account and tap OK. Once you've deleted it, follow the steps below:

Tap the Mail icon from the applications screen.

 

Step 2 of 9

Tap Other from the list of email providers.

 

Step 3 of 9

Enter your email address and password and tap Next.

Tap IMAP

 

Step 5 of 9

Type in your incoming server settings as follows:

Username: Your email address

Password: Your email password

IMAP server: Choose the one which corresponds to your Tiscali/TalkTalk email account.

  • mail.talktalk.net (TalkTalk email addresses)
  • imap.tiscali.co.uk (Tiscali email addresses) 

Port: 143

 

Tap Next.

 

Step 6 of 9

Type in your outgoing server settings as follows:

SMTP Server: Choose the one which corresponds to your Tiscali/TalkTalk email account.

  • SMTP.talktalk.net (TalkTalk email addresses)
  • SMTP.tiscali.co.uk (Tiscali email addresses)

Username: Your email address

Password: Your email password

Security Type: TLS (accept all certificates)

Authentication Type : Password

Port: 587

 

Tap Next

 

Step 7 of 9

Choose how often your Kindle should check for messages and then tap Next

Choose your display name and account name, then tap to view your inbox.

Your email is now set up. If you have any problems, head over to the Kindle support site.
