Turning voicemail on/off

TalkTalk's 1571 home phone voicemail service answers calls when you're away from the phone or engaged on another call. You'll know you have a new message in your mailbox because of the interrupted or "stuttered" dial tone on the line. 

Please ensure you are using a touch tone phone and have activated this service as below:

Turning your voicemail on:

You can turn on your home phone voicemail service in My Account.

Select Manage Boosts from the Package and Boosts menu, then choose from the following options:

  • Voicemail - you can store up to 10 messages, each up to 2 minutes long. All for free.
  • Voicemail Plus - this includes extra storage, personalised greetings and remote access to your voicemail for just £2.55 a month.

Turning your voicemail off:

You can turn off your home phone voicemail service in My Account.​ Make sure both options (Voicemail & Voicemail Plus) are unticked in the Package and Boosts menu. 

You need to do this if you want to use your own answer machine on your home phone.
